Hands on with Hands Off

It’s very old fashioned to talk about “sin.” It’s very unpopular in liberal religious circles. It’s very limited in conservative circles, where it almost always seems at least to be centered on people’s private lives, their genitalia, or their choice of entertainment.
I do use the term sin. Sin for me is the intentional (or criminally negligent) actions that harm others. It’s an easy definition that is applicable to:
- Using government power to abduct people and remove them without due process.
- Creating known dangerous vehicles, selling them, and refusing to take them back.
- Lying.
- Again, LYING. A thing our politicians and media are very good at.
- Intentionally causing financial distress especially for those who are most vulnerable.
- Elevating self over all other beings.
- Colluding with hostile foreign powers.
- Engaging in tyranny
And on and on…the current Felon who resides, occasionally, in the White House and his Boer accomplice, along with their Kremlin Kommanders, are engaged in tremendous sin, tremendous evil. Every GOP supporter, every GOP elected official should be held responsible for these actions, unless they are actively working against them. I don’t see many (any?) who are. I have written to my county GOP party which is entirely silent on all of these issues. Silence = complicity.
It’s time for Americans, and other people around the world, to grow up. We have an obligation as adults to be conscientious, kind, collaborative, compassionate. We are not supposed to be 4 year old children in larger bodies. And too many people behave that way. Too many people behave in a way that I was lectured about when I was a small child. The clear expectation from my parents was that I would grow up and be an adult with responsibility, honesty, and basic decency.
Hands off, elbows up, upend the tyranny!
